It’s about how big his career as a music artist impacts his relationship with the person that’s has loved him since his first big hit on the radio, “ I skipped prom; I thought I would blow up from that radio spot” and this is the person he wants to be there when he gets super famous. But the problem is he has two loves, this person and his career as a musician. He later talks about his realization of how much time he’s spending on music and his attempts to spend more time with the person he loves saying, “You're no longer gonna be the plan I miss”
